Unit Aim
Provide students with an introduction to a range of design and research activities and related skills appropriate to the support of creative media production. The unit will also develop an understanding of the vital role that design and research play in informing and developing ideas.
Purpose Of The Unit
This unit has been developed in order to develop practical skills in drawing game concept art. You will examine how concept art is used within computer games and will use a variety of drawing media to develop skills in observational drawing. You will use these skills to visualise imagined characters, objects and locations for a game concept and will reflect on the quality of your work. The assignment relates to the role of a Developer in the computer game industry.
All Game development studios draw upon Art tests to ensure they make the right decision when employing new team members, so completing these tests in an educational environment will help you develop your portfolio and employability skills.
This unit provides the final assessment of students completing the course, and will be graded as either Refer, Pass. The grade criteria for the assessments are detailed in this document for information and guidance purposes. Students failing to achieve a pass grade will be given one opportunity for resubmission to redeem that referral.
In order to achieve a grade, students must complete all of the assessment criteria listed within this document, together with all of the grading criteria listed for that specific grade.
In order to complete this unit, students will need to work individually to design, create and evaluate a cohesive media product. To achieve this, students will need to complete all tasks identified within this document, and submit all work by the interim submission deadlines. Any late or non-submissions will be regarded as a referral, and the opportunity to resubmit will be forfeited.
The results of this final unit are subject to external verification, and therefore grades awarded by the teaching team should not be considered as final until the verification process has been completed.

My idea for a game concept and reason for the chosen
My idea for a game concept is “Train with Mr. Miyagi” a game based on a martial art, what I chose to make is a game that is training and improving skills in game and also in real life with the actual skills required to do so, what I decided to do is not karate but instead do based on Taekwondo.
One of the reasons why I chose this concept is that I’m learning, practicing and doing taekwondo and other reason is that it looks badass the art of kicking. |

Reason why they weren't successful
The most popular taekwondo game had more than 250 thousand downloads, the reason being that it was free and a mobile game, not having too much graphics made it possible for people without a decent phone to be able to play it, also affordable for everyone since it was a free game. The amount of people that are aware of taekwondo martial art is not abundant as others such as karate, box, jiu jitsu, kickboxing, muay thai, kung fu, etc.
